Caroline Behar, Head of Acquisitions and International Co-productions, France 5 (France)

Caroline Behar joined France 5 at its launch 15 years ago. She is now Head of Documentaries for France 5 and Head of Acquisitions andInternational Co-productions for the France Télévisions Group (France 2,France 3, France 4, France 5), overseeing 500 hours of acquisitions and 60 hours of co-productions every year. She works with major partners such as the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, and NHK, as well as independent producers from all over the world. Over the years, she has also developed relationships with partners in emerging markets such as Asia, South America, India and the Middle East. Acquisitions cover the areas of history and civilization, science and technology, wildlife and the environment, and general discovery programs, as well as programs on contemporary society worldwide and big commemorative projects. Caroline also commissions ground-breaking specials that either display an innovative style, with original use of CGI or 3D techniques, or deal with important new scientific or archaeological discoveries. She is keen to develop cross-platform projects and international 3D co-productions for the France Télévisions Group. Caroline is on the board of the Science Congress, History Makers, and the EBU, and is a regular panelist for film festivals and competitions.
