Eike Schmitz, Director/Writer/Producer, Atlantis-Film (Germany)

Eike Schmitz studied Classics and English and American literature at the Universities of Heidelberg, Cambridge and Cornell. He taught English and American language and literature at the Technische Universität Berlin until 1981. Since then, he has worked as an author, director and producer of television documentaries (among others, for arte, ZDF, Discovery Channel and Channel 4). His company Atlantis-Film has specialized in prime time historical documentaries for almost twenty years. The most recent productions were docu-dramas on Henry VIII and Charles Darwin.
