Jan Ronca, Director of Programming and Production, Fox International Channels Italy (Italy)
Jan Ronca has been working in the documentary industry since 1996. After graduating in Biology he went to England to follow his passion for wildlife documentary making.
He started in 1997 at Partridge Films as a researcher, field assistant, cameraman and assistant editor. He produced several programs for Amazing Animals, an Emmy award-nominated children’s series (26 x 25 min) for Disney Channel.
In June 2000 Jan decided to freelance and worked as assistant director on the Emmy-winning docudrama Galileo’s Daughter for WBGH and Channel 4. He then collaborated with the BBC and other independent production companies. In 2002 Jan decided to return to Italy where he directed a history documentary for Mediaset, The Town Hitler gave the Jews. In 2004 he filmed and produced an anthropological short documentary in Vanuatu broadcasted on Rai 1.
Since November 2004 he has worked at Fox International Channels Italy as a Director of Programming and Production for the Factual Channels commissioning history and factual entertainment documentaries.
