Lorenzo Pinna, SuperQuark, RAI 1 (Italy)

Mr. Lorenzo Pinna is a Channel Manager at RAI 1 for Science and Wildlife, where he heads the programmes: SuperQuark, Passaggio a Nord-Ovest and Quark Atlante.

Science and wildlife have been only a small part in Rai 1 programming, but a very important one. Since the early 1980s the Quark group has been able to air more than 2000 programmes (either acquisitions or production) with very good audience results. Ten years ago history was added to science and wildlife (especially with docudramas) as a major strand to capture a wider public audience.

Mr Pinna has been working in the scientific community for 25 years, carrying out many enquiries and programmes in Italy and abroad. He has written more than 15 scientific books on different scientific topics including astronomy, energy, computers, the origin of mankind, energy, geology and climate. Mr Pinna has written for various newspapers and the prominent Italian magazines.
