Richard Bradley, Managing Director, Lion Television (UK)
Richard is a founder of Lion Television, one of the industry’s most successful production companies. Richard specializes in both popular and ambitious history, science, arts and documentary projects. Under his creative leadership, Lion has assembled one of the most widely respected historical, documentary and specialist factual program producing units with a worldwide reputation for innovative and accessible television. Richard’s recent credits at Lion include Horrible Histories (CBBC/BBC One), Cleopatra: Portrait of a Killer (Discovery/BBC One/NHK), Hottest Place on Earth (BBC One) and Great Wall of China (C4/France 5/Discovery). Richard was also involved in devising Britain from Above (BBC One/Two/Four/BBC on-line), Victorian Farm (BBC2) and Chinese School (BBC Four). Richard has unparalleled experience of the joys and challenges of ambitious co-productions, and has enjoyed creating pioneering production partnerships in Asia and the Middle-East.
Prior to founding Lion, Richard was a successful director and producer at the BBC for 12 years where he won many awards including two Emmys. And before that he was a teacher in rural Kenya.
