Alison Leigh, Editorial Director, WCSFP / Independent Producer, Leigh Brown Productions (Australia)

Alison is the Editorial Director of WCSFP. She began programming the content for the event in 1999. During the 1990s Alison played a leading role in producing and commissioning science and factual TV programs in Australia, including six years as Executive Producer ABC TV Science Unit, (Quantum, Hot Chips, The Future Eaters, What's Your Poison? - The Science of Everyday Drugs). She resumed this role in 2006 as Executive Producer of ABC TV Science Unit's Catalyst. Alison was also closely involved in the development and production of Media Watch - a critical analysis of TV, radio & print media (series producer) and Home Truths - a unique television project about family life, filmed by the families themselves, using compact digital cameras, (executive producer). She was the co-writer and script editor on Alien Underworld, winner, Best Science Film, Beijing 2002 and Genius of Junk which won the Queensland Premier's Literary Award in 2004. Alison is available to broadcasters and filmmakers for producing and executive producing, for content origination and for writing scripts and narration. Alison's writing credits in 2007 include Backyard Science for Beyond Productions and Life at 3 web forums for ABC TV.
