Alison Leigh, Editorial Director, WCSFP/Independent Producer, Leigh Brown Productions (Australia)

Alison is the Editorial Director of WCSFP. She began programming the content for the event in 1999. During the 1990s Alison played a leading role in producing and commissioning science and factual TV programs in Australia, including six years as Executive Producer ABC TV Science Unit, (Quantum, Hot Chips, The Future Eaters, What’s Your Poison? The Science of Everyday Drugs). She resumed this role in 2006 as Executive Producer of ABC TV Science Unit’s Catalyst. Alison was also closely involved in the development and production of Media Watch, a critical analysis of TV, radio & print media (series producer). In addition to her Congress commitments, she is a freelance researcher, writer and script editor. She co-authored the book Eight Steps to Happiness with Tony Grant, which accompanied the ABC TV series Making Australia Happy. Other recent TV shows she has written and researched include Life at 3 and Life at 5 (Heiress Films for ABC TV), and Kid Detectives and Backyard Science (Beyond Productions). Alison is available to broadcasters and filmmakers for producing and executive producing, content origination, and writing scripts and narration.
