Anthony Geffen, CEO and Executive Producer, Atlantic Productions (UK)
Anthony Geffen is a leading documentary producer and film maker, he has spent the past 25 years making films around the world. He was at the BBC for 10 years before founding Atlantic Productions in 1992; he has worked on many of television’s best known series and specials. His films have been honoured with several major awards including Emmys, Baftas and main prizes at the New York and Chicago film festivals. His many credits include the Emmy award winning Jerusalem: City of Heaven (Discovery Channel); Hirohito: Behind the Myth (BBC/PBS), winner of the Critic’s Guild for Best Documentary; The Promised Land (BBC/Discovery Channel), a five hour series nominated for three Emmys, and features in Time Magazine’s top ten television; The Rise and Fall of the Ceausescus (BBC/PBS), nominated for the Best Documentary Emmy; the Bafta award winning The last African Flying Boat; Munich: Mossad’s Revenge (Discovery Channel/Channel4), nominated for Huw Weldon BAFTA award; The Faces of Arafat (BBC/PBS); The American Dream (BBC/Discovery), an acclaimed five hour series; the landmark series The Greeks: The Crucible of Civilisation (BBC/PBS).
Recent work includes producing the series David Attenborough’s First Life (BBC/Discovery/ABC); directing the acclaimed cinema and IMAX feature documentary The Wildest Dream (National Geographic Entertainment) which opened in August 2010 and producing Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough with SKY 3D and IMAX.
