Dawn Porter, Principal, Trilogy Films (USA)
Dawn Porter was most recently a Vice President at the A&E Television networks (AETN). AETN includes such properties as The History Channel, Lifetime, The Biography Channel, and A&E. Prior to coming to A&E, Dawn worked for five years as the Director of News Practices for ABC News in New York advising news anchors, reporters and producers for World News Tonight With Peter Jennings, Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer and the news magazine 20/20 regarding the resolution of complex ethical issues that arise in the process of documentary and television news production.
In 2007, Dawn formed Trilogy Films, a film and television production company to produce social impact documentary and independent feature films. Trilogy documentaries include Gideon’s Army, a feature documentary funded by the Ford Foundation, and Spies of Mississippi, a feature documentary in production, which has received production support from PBS affiliate KETC. Other documentaries include Shoot The Messengers, a feature describing the experiences of war correspondents David Halberstam, Neil Sheehan, Peter Arnett, Malcolm Browne, and Horst Faas, and Terra Antarctica, a feature documenting an expedition to Antarctica.
Trilogy was also hired to produce a documentary about New York City chef Alexandra Guarnaschelli for the Food Network.
