Evan Kidd, Charles La Trobe Research Fellow, La Trobe University (Australia)
Evan Kidd received his PhD in psycholinguistics from La Trobe University in 2004. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (Manchester/Leipzig) from 2003 – 2005, and then moved to The University of Manchester as a lecturer in psychology, where he is currently a faculty member. He is currently on leave from Manchester and is working as a Charles La Trobe Research Fellow at La Trobe University. His research investigates the cognitive processes involved in language acquisition and language processing, including the role of memory in language, and how children’s play behaviour, such as the creation of imaginary friends, supports the development of language.
