Jonathan Hewes, Deputy Chief Executive, Wall to Wall (UK)

Jonathan joined Wall To Wall Television in 1995, becoming Head of Factual Programmes in 1997 and Deputy Chief Executive in January 2000. He oversees both development and production of Wall to Wall’s factual output, with particular responsibility for the company’s American operations and relationships with all major international broadcasters.

Jonathan started his TV career as a journalist on BBC’s flagship daily show, Nationwide, and at TV-am, Britain’s first morning station, before abandoning current affairs for pop TV, as producer of Britain’s most celebrated rock show, The Tube. After two award-winning classical music series with Dudley Moore, he produced a wide range of arts programs in the 1990s before joining Wall To Wall in 1995.

Program awards and nominations include: International Emmy, Gold Medal at New York Film Festival, Ohio State Award, Cable Ace nominee, Montreux Highly Commended, Post Montreux winner, Royal Television Society Programme awards, Royal Television Society Education Awards.

Jonathan studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University, but spent most of his time writing for and editing Isis, the university magazine, and playing sport.
