Jørn Harald Hurum, Associate Professor of Paleontology, Natural History Museum, Univerity of Oslo (Norway)
Jørn’s Master and Phd. were both made on early mammals. He studied skull morphology in tyrannosaurids 1998-2000 as a post doctoral project. Since 2004 five large expeditions to the polar Archipelago of Svalbard have been undertaken by his team to excavate Jurassic marine reptiles. The latest scientific work is on IDA. Since 2000 he’s been employed at the Natural History Museum of the University of Oslo as an associate professor in vertebrate paleontology. He has published several popular books in Norwegian and a dinosaur book in Braille. He appears frequently on Norwegian radio, TV and in newspapers. He co-hosted a popular science talk show on Norwegian radio and has also had his own weekly part on a children’s science show on TV. He has been the project leader of two large exhibits in the museum. His two last documentaries Predator X and The Link were made for an international audience.
