Thomas Von Hennet, Head of Documentaries & International Co-Production, ProSieben (Germany)

Thomas von Hennet is Head of Documentaries & International Co-Production at ProSieben Television, a major German commercial broadcaster based in Munich. Born in Paris and raised in Germany and the Netherlands, he studied history and political science in Munich, Freiburg and Jerusalem. He began his career as a freelance producer and AD, mainly for documentary/docudrama productions. In 1994 Thomas joined ProSieben as commissioning executive for documentaries. In 1996 he became Manager Documentaries and has been Head of ProSieben's Department for Documentaries since 2000. Since 2007 his responsibilities also include international drama co-productions. In factual programming, the focus of the department is also mainly on international co-productions, mostly for the creation of factual events in primetime. Selection of recent co-production highlights: Supervolcano (2005), Hannibal, Blackbeard (2006), Diana - Death of a Princess, Superstorm (2007), Comet Impact, Population: Zero (2008), Moonshot – The Flight of Apollo 11 (2009). Co-production partners include leading companies in France, Germany, North America and the UK.
