George Harris, Senior Producer, Development, Darlow Smithson Productions (UK)

George Harris is senior producer in development at Darlow Smithson Productions, where he leads the development team in creating ideas for innovative science and history series and spectacular one-off specials. In that role he has helped win the commission and produce the pilot for a major new live Channel 4 show, and has created a new returnable science format for the National Geographic Channel that was recently commissioned.

Previous to this, he worked as a journalist in Paris for France24, trained Ugandan documentary filmmakers, and produced and directed several documentaries. His credits include Megastructures: Queen Mary 2 for NGC and Five (UK), In Search of Snow Gods for Eden (UK), I Shouldn’t Be Alive for Discovery and Channel 4 (UK), Horizon for the BBC and Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking for Discovery.
