2010 World Congress of Science & Factual Producers : Melbourne, Australia December 1-4

John Farren, Creative Director, 360production (UK)

John Farren is the Creative Director of 360production, based in Derry and London. 360 means exactly what it says on the tin. So John and his team have spent the last three years making bold landmark TV series, like Making History for National Geographic, Digging for Britain for BBC2 and Things You Needs to Know for Discovery Canada, all of which combine new forms with brilliant content. But they’ve also made money and had great fun making short form virals with non-broadcast partners. Currently John and his team are trying to transform WW2, and how we tell science on TV, online and on mobile. They love making great TV on ever lower budgets, and arguing about where we are going as an industry. Previously John worked as the editor of Timewatch, exec’d docsoaps for Granada and made Fact Ent with Ginger TV.
