Thomas Sassenberg, Director of Production Services, Story House Productions

Thomas Sassenberg has over twenty-five years of experience in news and television production. He is the Director of Production Services at Story House Productions where he oversees the technology side of all of Story House’s documentaries. He is responsible for the technical and production workflows in all four of the company’s locations (Berlin, Munich, Washington, DC and Halifax, Canada), as well as for the adaption of new technologies. Before joining Story House in 1999, Thomas spent fifteen years as a freelance cameraman and editor, shooting more than 100 documentaries for clients such as ARD, ZDF, Spiegel TV, National Geographic, Discovery, PBS and the BBC; as well as running live video events for commercial clients such as Daimler Benz, Philipp Morris and L’Oreal. For Story House Productions’ recent 3D project for the Discovery Channel, The Rise of the Jellyfish, Thomas is involved as the Technical Director of the project, as well as 3D cameraman and stereographer on locations around the world.
