SOLD OUT WCSFP IN PARIS COMES TO A CLOSE!

Following a dynamic three day program of informative sessions, fruitful networking opportunities and memorable social events, the 2011 World Congress of Science and Factual Producers has officially come to a close. Hundreds of members congregated at the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel for the sold out industry conference that brought together science and specialist factual producers and broadcasters from France and around the world. Thanks to Host Broadcaster France Télévisions, all of the partners, session producers, moderators, panelists, volunteers, and staff who helped to make the 2011 WCSFP a tremendous success!

DATES AND HOST BROADCASTER ANNOUNCED FOR 2012 CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON, DC!

The WCSFP Board of Directors and newly formed 2012 Steering Committee are delighted to announce that next year’s Congress will take place November 27 to 30 in Washington, DC, USA, and will be generously hosted by Discovery Channel and Science Channel. Join your colleagues at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in one of the world’s most energetic capital cities. Registration for next year’s event will open in early summer 2012 with special early-bird discounts.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED TO 2012 STEERING COMMITTEE

The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers is a non-profit, member-run organization. In registering for the event, members are entitled to vote in the organization’s elections. During this year’s Congress, steering committee nominations and elections took place and, at the closing plenary session on December 2, the successful candidates were announced.

Newly elected Steering Committee members are:

  • Beth Hoppe, Public Broadcasting Service (USA)

The elected members will join existing Steering Committee members Jennifer Colllins, Michael Hoff, Kazuhiro Kitano, Debbie Myers, Richard Bradley, and Caroline Behar. We thank outgoing representatives Peter Arens, Marco Visalberghi, Michael Allder, Tony Chow, and Martin Davidson as well as host country representative Stéphane Millière for their tremendous contributions.
