Mila Turajlic, Filmmaker/Producer, Dribbling Pictures (Serbia)
Mila Turajlic is a documentary director and producer from Belgrade, Serbia, where she has a production company, Dribbling Pictures, with fellow documentary filmmaker Boris Mitic. Mila’s first feature doc Cinema Komunisto premiered at IDFA 2010, and the Tribeca Film Festival, and won 12 awards including the Golden Hugo at Chicago International Film Festival and the FOCAL International Award for Creative Use of Archival Footage. Mila studied politics and media at the London School of Economics and film production in Serbia, after which she specialized in documentary filmmaking at La Femis in Paris. She worked as production assistant and researcher on series for Wilton Films in London, and on series for the Discovery Channel and ARTE France. Since then she has worked on feature films as AD and production coordinator (Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, Oliver Parker’s Fade to Black, Rian Johmson’s Brothers Bloom, and Luc Besson’s Human Zoo). Mila co-founded the Magnificent 7 Festival of feature documentaries in 2005.
