Global Career Accelerator
The Global Career Accelerator is a program for up-and-coming factual filmmakers, digital producers, or anyone ready to take their career to the next level and bring their science, history, or natural history work to audiences around the world. The newly renamed programme builds on the success of the Emerging Producer Program, and is open to all fields of expertise including factual, digital, social media, gaming, and multimedia.
The goal of the program is to welcome and support diverse emerging talent and encourage a new generation of Congress members. Producers and content creators working in all science, history, wildlife and non-fiction media are encouraged to apply including those working in digital media, social media and gaming.
The 2025 Global Career Accelerator recipients are offered a range of support including accreditation and networking opportunities for Congress '25, presented by the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP). The program also includes legacy discounts on accreditation for the 2026 and 2027 WCSFP, further allowing new members of the community to return annually.

Selected from over 100 applications, this year’s recipients of the Global Career Accelerator program are some of the brightest emerging talents in our community. From digital innovation to linear media in science, history, and natural history, each awardee has already made impressive strides in their careers.
Recognized for their innovation, ambition, and commitment to the craft of factual storytelling, these accomplished professionals embody the spirit of the next generation. Their presence at Congress offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with some of the brightest emerging talents in our community. Aaron Comer, UK
Aaron Comer is a London-based Development Producer and Assistant Producer specializing in Science and History television. After graduating from Imperial College’s Science Media Production course in 2022, he worked on multiple series of the Weather Channel’s Prime Suspect Earth, incorporating new immersive media software such as Unreal Engine into traditional TV formats. Aaron is interested in fusing storytelling techniques across various media platforms, creating engaging and innovative narratives. In 2023, Aaron started tutoring children in making short form, digital content using virtual worlds, animation and graphics, publishing the work on his Block Productions YouTube channel. He has spent his whole career at Emmy Award winning production company Bigger Bang TV, working on projects for broadcasters such as Netflix, Apple TV and National Geographic and is currently developing the company’s new digital arm.
Aditi Rajagopal, India
Aditi Rajagopal is an award-winning Indian journalist and filmmaker based in Berlin, recently awarded a Pulitzer grant for a short investigative film in the Andaman islands. She works primarily at Deutsche Welle on the climate-focused YouTube Channel Planet A, as well as other formats on TV, film and Tiktok—where her videos have garnered up to 15 million views each.
Aditi works on deep-research visual stories on energy, biodiversity and climate change with a focus on scalable solutions and even utopic outcomes. She uses her unique position as an Indian journalist in Europe to highlight issues of environmental justice and inequality.
Previously she worked on the Discovery Channel series 'River Monsters with Jeremy Wade', and freelanced on several conservation-related films in India and the UK. A film she conceptualised, wrote and produced "Flying Elephants" won the Best Film Award in the 'Global Voices' category at Jackson Hole Film Festival.
Alex Dainis, USA
Alex Dainis is a freelance science communicator and video producer with over a decade of experience producing digital, educational content for the web. Her background includes a PhD in genetics from Stanford University, and she was honored to be a 2019 Jackson Wild Media Lab Fellow and a winner of the 2024 National Academies Eric and Wendy Schmidt Awards for Excellence in Science Communications. Recent projects include “Hungry Planet,” a six-episode series for PBS Digital Studios. She is additionally the project coordinator for the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation’s Chemistry Shorts® Program and a host and writer for the American Chemical Society’s Reactions YouTube channel.
Ángel Linares, Venezuela
Venezuelan documentary filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer based in Mexico. Graduate of UNAM’s Film School, he has been a fellow of Jackson Wild Summit, Realscreen Pathways Mentorship Program, The Video Consortium’s Solutions Storytelling Project, Talents Buenos Aires (Berlinale–BAFICI), and part of National Geographic’s Field Ready Program with an externship at Plimsoll Productions in the UK. His work bridges Latin American Indigenous and rural perspectives with global conservation issues, highlighting the human–biodiversity relationship through cinematic storytelling. He is co-founder of CAUCE, the first Latin American incubator dedicated to natural history content, fostering new voices and projects in the region.
Javiera Quintana, Canada
Javiera Quintana is a Chilean-born, Toronto-based producer who thrives at the intersection of bold storytelling and social relevance. For over 15 years, she has contributed to award-winning documentaries and factual series for Netflix, VICE, CBC, Discovery, and more, with work premiering at Hot Docs, Venice International Film Festival, and TIFF. Notable credits include “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond” (2017), “The Case Against Cosby” (2022), “We’re All Gonna Die (Even Jay Baruchel)” (2024), and “Bodies for Rent” (2024). Javiera is known for her commitment to bold, socially relevant storytelling and is currently developing new projects with 90th Parallel Productions.
Júlia Dall'Agnese, Brazil
Júlia Dall'Agnese is a geographer who graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She is a master’s student in the Graduate Program in Geography at UFRGS, where she researches the representations of nature and climate change in Brazilian socio-environmental journalism. As an educational designer at UOLEdTech, she produces audiovisual material for private higher education institutions in Brazil. Her professional experience includes research, scientific production, and audiovisual work. Júlia's work is guided by the passion for translating complex scientific topics into engaging and accessible narratives. She uses images, maps, and sounds to tell stories about science and territory. She is currently directing her first documentary, "What If the Sky Falls?" a collaboration that explores the intricate relationship between climate change and public health. The documentary seeks to explain how climate change affects public health and social structures, proposing grief as a path to reconstruct new ways of living. Her interests focus on using cinema as a tool for awareness and collective transformation, addressing social and environmental issues.
Kiki Wang, China
Kiki Wang is a UK-based documentary filmmaker and specialist factual AP from northern China. With a background in journalism and experience living between two cultures, she brings a sensitivity to cross-cultural narratives and is passionate about human-nature storytelling.
Kiki has broad experience working across TV and digital, covering wildlife, adventure, and history for broadcasters and streamers such as National Geographic, CCTV, and BBC Studios. Most recently, she joined Wildstar Films through the Wildstar Academy and contributed as a natural history researcher to their landmark series Sentient and Animals Up Close with Bertie Gregory.
Before freelancing, she was a video producer creating short docs, news and branded content for Chinese audiences, where she developed skills across all stages of production from development and interviews to shooting and editing.
Kiki is particularly interested in uncovering stories from underrepresented voices. She also draws inspiration from food anthropology beyond her fascination with wildlife.
Laura Morshak, Brazil
Laura Morshak is a nutritionist who graduated from the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) and the University of Granada (UGR, Spain). She holds a Master’s degree and is currently a PhD candidate in Public Health, with a focus on food systems and vulnerable populations. Laura also holds a degree in Marketing and works at the intersection of science and communication. Her experience spans research, clinical practice, and the production of scientific content. She develops narratives that translate complex topics about health and environmental issues into accessible and visual formats. Currently, she is directing her first documentary, "What If the Sky Falls?", which explores the impact of climate change on global health. The film invites viewers to see themselves within the narrative and reflect on their role in shaping new futures. She is especially interested in socially and environmentally engaged work, using cinema as a tool for awareness and collective transformation.
Noel Guevara, Philippines
Noel Guevara is a conservation photographer, filmmaker, producer, and National Geographic Explorer based in Manila, Philippines.
Noel focuses on the Asia-Pacific region, specializing in impact stories from the Philippine seas. He covers ocean conservation, climate change, single-use plastic issues, and the complex, personal stories about the relationships of coastal and urban communities with the sea.
In the last ten years, Noel has collaborated with the world's top conservation groups, NGOs, photo agencies, production companies, and research teams, such as Greenpeace International, WWF, The Coral Triangle Initiative, Panos Pictures, and Columbia University
He is currently working on his National Geographic Society grant-funded documentary "Tales from the Triangle" and his self-funded adventure documentary series "Life Uncharted" on YouTube.
Peter Lown, UK
Peter Lown is an award-winning filmmaker known for his sensitive and impactful storytelling - often exploring our complex relationship with the natural world.
Drawing on over twenty years experience, he has developed Produced and Directed films for Netflix, Disney+, BBC, PBS, arte and Theatric release. Notable credits include Emmy-nominated ‘Our Living World’, ‘The Age of Nature’ and ‘The Fire Within: Requiem for Maurice and Katia Krafft’ with Werner Herzog. He is currently working on a new feature documentary with the BBC called ‘Bearwalker’.
Peter is known for his progressive approach, creative spark and intuitive craft skills, and brings a soulful, compassionate quality to all his films. He is the founder of Wish Tree Films, a film company that operates in collaboration with a global network of Producers to adapt to our changing world and industry.
Sophie Shrand, USA
Sophie Shrand is an award-winning TV Host, filmmaker, performer and STEM educator with degrees in Behavioral Neuroscience and Theatre. Sophie is the Creator and Host of Science With Sophie, a Telly Award-winning science comedy series for girls and everyone that reaches 2 million families worldwide. A former cast member of The Second City, Sophie can be seen as the Host of streaming series Theory of Awesome, and on digital channels like the Museum of Science and Indeed.
Sophie is the Founder and Executive Producer of Cool Jacket Productions, an independent production company that finds joyful solutions to serious problems. CJP’s newest projects include a detective-style cybersecurity training series (ask her for a demo!), and a comedic climate-solutions documentary series, in which Sophie drives an electric car from Los Angeles to Boston and back on a 7000-mile journey across the USA to find hope amidst the climate crisis.
Thamys Trindade, Brazil
Thamys Trindade is a Brazilian filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller focused on wildlife and environmental issues across Latin America. With a background in journalism, she has collaborated with leading NGOs and platforms such as Netflix, National Geographic, Apple TV, and Globoplay. She was one of the cinematographers for March of the Jaguars—a two-year project and the first original Latin American nature documentary by Netflix, set to premiere in 2026. She also worked on Jaguaretê-Avá: Pantanal in Flames, which received the Sustainability Merit Award at Wildscreen. At the same event, she was awarded the National Geographic UK Emerging Talent Bursary. Thamys participated in the G20 and the documentary Voice of the Oceans: Scientific Expedition. She recently filmed an episode on the Lear's Macaw for a new TV series, in which she serves as both host and photographer. Her photography was also exhibited at the European Parliament by invitation of the Environmental Justice Foundation. Thamys has been selected to pitch her first feature film at Conecta 2025, in Chile, for the British fund The Whickers and is currently developing a multimedia project for Mongabay Global.
Vitória Mendes, Brazil
Vitória is a journalist, content strategist, and researcher from Belém, Brazil. She is interested in climate, socio-environmental issues, and the traditional populations of the Amazon. Her professional experience includes communications for scientific institutions, consulting for socio-environmental NGOs, and content strategy at a communications agency. She enjoys writing scripts, listening to life stories, and translating science for different audiences and formats. She is enthusiastic about animals, plants, and people.
